OvationNet Workshop Frequently Asked Questions
To participate in the live online sessions each week, you need to login to the workshop website with the ID and password provided to you. You can participate entirely through your computer as long as you have speakers or a headset that allows you to listen to audio. If not, you will also need to dial into a phone number to listen to the audio (toll charges may apply).
Each week participants are asked to join a pre-scheduled live online meeting for two hours. Participants are also asked to read 1-2 articles per week and to view 2-3 online videos or narrated presentations.
Each week there are also assignments to post reflections and thoughts about these materials within the discussion area of the workshop. Most of these activities are self-paced, meaning that you can participate on your own schedule, and generally take anywhere from 4-6 hours of time.
All live online meetings will be recorded and are available for the duration of the workshop, so it is easy to make-up for a missed session. However, to receive your certificate of completion, you do need to participate in at least four of the six live sessions.
The workshop is offered approximately once per year, but is sometimes offered twice per year based on interest and demand. If you are interested in receiving announcements about future workshops, make sure you sign up for our Keep me informed list.
As a participant, you will be paired up with another person to participate and practice appreciative interviewing. We do our best to assign pair teams based on time zones so that it’s relatively easy for you to coordinate meeting times together.
You do not need to purchase any books since all assigned weekly readings will be supplied online for you to download (to print out or read on your computer screen). During the workshop you will receive a variety of suggested resources and books which you may decide to purchase if you want additional reading, but none of this is required and you do not need anything other than what is provided to you online to fully participate.
Yes, we encourage in-tact groups and teams to participate in the workshop, thus we offer a discount that provides one complementary registration for every three paid registrations.
We also provided discounts to teams or organizations that wish to provide the workshop as an employee or leadership development opportunity. Please contact us for more information on discounted group rates and how we provide customized facilitation to your group during the workshop.
The OvationNet workshop includes many similar foundational elements as other Appreciative Inquiry trainings, but it is not officially affiliated with Case Western Reserve University or other educational institutions. The certificate of completion indicates that you have successfully completed an introductory course in Appreciative Inquiry as led by David Cooperrider, the founder of AI.
All participants are given full access to the workshop website for six months following the end of the workshop, which includes all course archives, online presentations, videos, templates and tools.
You can cancel your registration with no penalty up to one month prior to the start date of the workshop. After that time up to seven days before the start date of the training, an administration fee of $75 is charged. If you need to withdraw within seven days of the start date or during the first two weeks of the workshop, a credit will be provided to you for participation in a future workshop.
